If you are one of the volunteer Poker Copilot translators, then you’ll appreciate this new feature: Now you can see your translations immediately in Poker Copilot without needing to wait for the next release. The workflow goes like this: 1) Make some modifications to the Google Docs translation spreadsheet for your language: 2) Wait a few minutes for Google Docs  to make the updates visible here . 3) In Poker Copilot, from the Tools menu, select “Download Language Pack Updates”. They’ll be fetched live from Google Docs: 4) Restart Poker Copilot Now you’ll see the updates directly in Poker Copilot:  You can get hold of an unofficial early release of Poker Copilot already with this feature here: http://pokercopilot.com/downloads/pokercopilot2.102_rc8.dmg   Â
Until now, you had two choices for language in Poker Copilot: the language automatically chosen according to your System Preferences, or English: Now you can pick any language that Poker Copilot knows: Â I suspect the main user of this feature will be me, when I’m making screenshots to help users who are using Poker Copilot in a language other than English. But I hope this is of benefit to the occasional Poker Copilot poly-linguist. Â
Read Slovenian? Then read a Poker Copilot review here . Random Slovenian trivia: the language has a singular word for beer (pivo), a plural word for beer (piva), and a word for exactly two beers (pivi). Google Translate offers proof . Â
Loyal Poker Copilot customer Randy informed me that PokerStars is now automatically saving tournament summaries. Thank goodness! This makes one of the most common Poker Copilot improvement requests possible. Here’s what you need to do to activate this: In PokerStars, from the Menu select “Options” -> “Tournament Summary Options…”. Check the checkbox labelled “Save My Tournament Summaries” Change “Keep Tournament Summaries for … Days” to 365 Ensure Language is set to English Unfortunately Poker Copilot needs a small alteration to be able to read these files. That’s because – at least on my computer – the tournament summaries have a strange hidden character (ASCII #16) at the beginning of the first line. The next Poker Copilot update will work with these files
The latest Full Tilt Poker update seems to be stubborn. It always wants to write the hand history files in the language you are using Full Tilt in, rather than in English. I’m using Full Tilt in German at the moment.
Want to develop an iPhone app? Here’s a section of the updated iPhone Developer License Agreement that has gained instant infamy: 3.3.1 — Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs. Applications must be originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or JavaScript as executed by the iPhone OS WebKit engine, and only code written in C, C++, and Objective-C may compile and directly link against the Documented APIs (e.g., Applications that link to Documented APIs through an intermediary translation or compatibility layer or tool are prohibited). I _want_ to be an Apple fanboy.
